Application for Student Membership in NALA
New student members receive two years of membership for the price of one year. New student members will receive a bill for membership renewal effective with the two year anniversary date of membership. Thereafter, membership dues are billed annually.
Costs: First year's dues ($50) and initiation fee must accompany this application. Dues are billed on the membership anniversary date.
All applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $15 initiation fee. The initiation fee is waived for:
- Members of NALA Affiliated Associations (click here for the list of NALA Affiliated Associations.)
- Paralegals who have successfully completed the Certified Paralegal Examination (CP).
Student membership is a non-voting membership classification. This classification of membership is only for students in a paralegal program. Graduates may maintain their membership for a period of one year after graduation.
Contributions or gifts to NALA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, payments may qualify as ordinary and necessary business expense.
In accordance with Articles 3.9 and 3.25 of the NALA Bylaws, individuals who have been convicted of a felony are not eligible for membership.
