Mandy Chapman, RP

Mandy Chapman, RP is a litigation paralegal at the law firm of Brown & Crouppen. Here, she works on complex personal injury matters. Previously, she has worked on class action, municipal law, business litigation, and breach of contract cases. She has been responsible for many aspects of the civil litigation file: managing high-volume document production (including e-discovery), data mapping and working with clients regarding discovery, obtaining and summarizing documents (medical, court proceedings, employment, etc.), locating and interviewing difficult to find/reluctant witnesses, obtaining recorded statements, preparing and responding to written discovery, preparing matters for trial/mediation/deposition, locating appropriate expert witnesses, and locating testimony to refute opinions of opponent’s experts. An active member of several professional associations, she brings over 15 years of experience in the legal field to the table and works hard promoting the profession. Ms. Chapman has served as a mentor to numerous paralegal students, junior paralegals and has trained both those new to the profession, as well as those new to only her employer. She obtained a B.S. in History and Social Studies - Secondary Education from Missouri Valley College and her paralegal certification through Adams State College. In 2011, Ms. Chapman obtained national certification as a Registered Paralegal (RP) through NFPA and has maintained this designation since. In 2014, she was honored with the St. Louis Paralegal Association’s Paralegal Legend award, and was nominated for this accolade by one of her supervising attorneys. She is currently serving as a Director for the Eastern District of the Missouri Paralegal Association. Ms. Chapman has written internal training manuals, template forms, and policies for several firms, providing guidance for paralegals on myriad topics. She has presented at CLE seminars on national circuits on eDiscovery, utilizing free legal research tools, high volume document matters, finding witnesses, and conducting Westlaw research, designed to educate attorneys, paralegals, and related business professionals. She has also been given research credit in publications and training materials. A native Midwesterner, Ms. Chapman is an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan, traveling to games as often as possible. She enjoys coaching and watching soccer, kayaking on rivers and lakes, and home remodeling projects.
