What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Oversee new matter intake and maintain/update the electronic database, including Labor and Employment (L&E) litigation, charges, status reports, trainings, major projects, and budgets
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement new practices/processes as appropriate
  • Manage discovery and e-discovery issues, including legal hold process and document preservation, collection, and production for L&E litigation docket; coordinate fact gathering and draft responses to discovery requests and third-party subpoenas
  • Assist in witness interviews and investigations, trainings and other presentations
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and presentations related to the L&E function
  • Manage processes for case tracking, forecasting, and analyses across the entire L&E function
  • Perform legal research and provide legal summaries on a project basis
Requirements or Qualifications: 

What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field
  • 8 years of litigation paralegal experience, including broad substantive L&E experience, e.g., ADA, EEOC, Title VII, Discrimination and/or Harassment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), Westlaw or LexisNexis; ability to create complex formulas in Excel, and quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
  • Familiarity with e-discovery issues and related computer technology

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Combination of law firm and in-house experience
  • Familiarity with Serengeti Legal Tracker matter management/e-billing system
  • Exceptional organizational skills and experience implementing organizational systems
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal direct supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
