Job Summary: 
  1. Investigate potential claims issues at senior residential communities to assess and determine if any potential liability exist. This involves communicating with the Executive Director to gather facts in order to analyze the risk of liability.
  2. Supports attorneys by assembling and organizing information for legal documents; researching law; assembling case materials; writing reports and memoranda.
  3. Assembles case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
  4. Tracks and prepares quarterly litigation reports.
  5. Assists with M&A due diligence, disclosure, review and transaction documents along with post-closing activities.
  6. Supports the  General Counsel with various legal, transactional, securities, and governance matters
  7. Conducts regulatory research with respect to multi-state compliance and litigation matters. 
  8. Participates in reviews of insurance related incidents.
  9. Assists with organization of litigation materials and attorney work product, including use of databases, imaging systems and other computer-based technology
  10. Reviews written production for substance, relevance, and privilege.
  11. Calendars and tracking deadlines.
  12. Assists attorneys with formation of corporate entities, as well as preparing corporate governance documentation, minute book documentation (such as resolutions and incumbency certificates) and other corporate formalities.
  13. Assists in drafting policies for residential communities.
  14. Personal injury experience preferred but not required
Requirements or Qualifications: 
  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Paralegal Certificate a must, ABA certificate preferred 
  3. Prefer prior corporate law firm or in-house experience.
  4. 3 – 5 minimum years’ experience.
  5. Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
  6. Ability to relate to the Community team members and other professionals appropriately. 
  7. Ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job and be on call.
  9. Ability to organize time, follow-up with the ability to perform job tasks efficiently.
  10. Ability to teach/train others effectively.
  11. Team player with a positive attitude; able to work with all colleagues in Company.
  12. Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
