Job Summary: 

Our Houston office has an opportunity for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their fast-paced litigation practice. Our paralegals research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents to assist attorneys. They are responsible for independently researching and analyzing law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treatises, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney.

Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations:

  • Researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters
  • Summarizes depositions and subpoenaed records
  • Determines and calendars deadlines
  • Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation with little or no supervision
  • Files pleadings with court clerk
  • Prepares documents, including reports, correspondence, affidavits, and pleadings
  • Prepares for mediations and trials
  • Assists Attorneys at trial
  • Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions
  • Communicates with witnesses and experts
  • Scheduling
  • Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner

Requirements or Qualifications: 
3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in an employment litigation practice. Paralegal certification/degree from accredited college or university. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lexis-Nexis/WestLaw, Relativity, Document Management System. Must possess superior analytical skills with the ability to mine and collect data for cases. Must possess superior communication and writing abilities. Must be willing to commit to additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives. Please note, we are not working with outside recruiters.
