Job Summary: 

Boutique law firm is seeking a talented Legal Assistant (Paralegal) to support attorneys in all aspects of their Food and Drug practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • document review
  • drafting and organizing correspondence and memoranda to clients and federal agencies
  • proofreading and cite-checking court and agency administrative pleadings, memos, emails, petitions, and other documents
  • obtaining background and regulatory status information on drugs and devices
  • database and file maintenance
  • assisting in the assembly and delivery of submissions to federal agencies and courts
  • reviewing, redacting, and Bates labeling documents for production in litigation
  • conducting on-site and online research at federal agencies, courts, and the Library of Congress, and using LexisNexis and Westlaw
Requirements or Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree is required (science-related major a plus); paralegal certificate obtained through an ABA-approved or accredited college/university is a plus
  • advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and litigation databases; cite-checking experience is a plus
  • excellent research skills using library, online, and print resources
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read English and write at a business level using proper English grammar and appropriate vocabulary for a professional services firm
  • excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of attorneys and staff, and to provide information with professional courtesy and tact
  • excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
  • ability to work on multiple projects/priorities in a deadline-driven environment
