Job Summary: 

Prominent, long-established boutique trust and estate law firm in East Ft. Lauderdale, estate planning, administration and litigation, 2 attorneys, seeks full-time bookkeeper/legal assistant to prepare monthly billings, accounts payable & receivable, monthly bank reconciliations, maintain orderly accounting filing system, and provide year-end information to outside accountant. General office work includes: scanning, copying, filing, maintaining calendars and schedules of attorneys, and answering the phone.  Legal assistant skills a plus, but will train these skills if necessary.  Duties include assistance with preparation and e-filing filing of petitions/pleadings/orders, correspondence and/or communication with clients, counsel, court and other institutions, scheduling and coordination of court hearings.  Relaxed work environment.

Requirements or Qualifications: 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Must be professional, organized, reliable and detail-oriented
  • Quick learner with the ability to follow directions and work in a team
  • Minimum education required: Associate Degree 
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience required
  • High proficiency with Widows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of PClaw is preferred, but not required
  • Pay is commensurate with experience
  • Medical insurance with option of 401K is available
