John David Lackey, Partner

John David is a practicing trial attorney in Tulsa, OK, and focuses his practice on the litigation of medical malpractice suits, commercial disputes, construction actions, the defense of employment discrimination claims, and representation to clients defending civil rights complaints.

Representing clients and companies from diverse backgrounds, John David regularly practices in both State and Federal courts throughout the State of Oklahoma, including appellate work at all levels. John David is admitted to practice in the State of Oklahoma, various tribal courts in Oklahoma, all three Oklahoma Federal Districts, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to joining his present practice, John David spent more than five years working as a prosecutor at the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office, working primarily in the area of child abuse and sex crimes prosecution. John David also served as liaison to the Tulsa Police Department and Oklahoma Office of Inspector General on White Collar and Elder Abuse Crimes.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, John David spent time in his undergraduate career at Baylor University and the University of Minnesota before finally finishing his degree in history at Oklahoma. Interspersed with this admittedly diverse collegiate background was a three year enlistment in the United States Army, where John David served in the Infantry as part of the 16th Infantry Regiment (Semper Paratus) with the Big Red One out of Fort Riley, Kansas.

Co-author of the book The ABC’s of the UCC: Related and Supplementary Consumer Law with Fred Miller, John David stays active professionally by serving as an at large member of the NCAA Committee on Infractions for Division Two schools. John David has been given an AV Preeminent rating by his peers through Martindale Hubbell.
