Position Information:
As Paralegal Specialist to the Campus Counsel, provides executive-level administrative and legal support to the Campus Counsel. Acts as liaison and representative for the Campus Counsel to all levels of University administration including UC Office of the President, General Counsel to the Regents, Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost, faculty and staff, outside counsel, community and business leaders, government and public officials and agencies, and others.

Minimum Requirements:
Paralegal Certification, completion of paralegal training, or demonstrated experience in the successful completion of paralegal tasks/assignments.

Demonstrated skill in use of informational systems with software in a Windows-environment such as LEXIS/NEXIS or Westlaw; demonstrated skills in use of Amicus or similar software.

Demonstrated personal integrity, experience maintaining strict confidentiality, and working with attorney-client privilege, FERPA or other confidentiality-related laws.

Leadership skills to organize, motivate, and work effectively as part of a team and proven office management experience.

Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills with proven experience drafting/revising legal documents.

Demonstrated extensive and progressive experience providing executive and/or legal project management and analytical support.

Experience handling/coordinating complex projects, calendars, and schedules with the ability to identify any problems, analyze the results and the ability to recommend any and all solutions.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to establish professional relationships with and interact effectively with others under pressure and with persons under pressure while maintaining a composed and rational demeanor and exhibiting a high level of professionalism.

Ability to work creatively and effectively in a strong service environment working with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and changing priorities.

Demonstrated experience working under general direction, being punctual and maintaining excellent work attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Paralegal with litigation experience.

Experience working in a law office or similar environment.

Demonstrated working knowledge of University of California and UCR structure, organization, and key administrative players.

Demonstrated working knowledge of University of California and UCR policies and procedures.
