Today my firm offered me a new position, which I was happy to accept. biggrin.gif My new title will be litigation support analyst, and while the easy description of the new job is "technology paralegal," I won't be doing much paralegal work per se, rather helping with the technical support, such as setting up databases, organizing document collections, assisting at trials with electronic exhibits, etc.

I read the Q&As on the NALA site about continuing education requirements, but am not sure whether I fall in retired or semi-retired status (or neither). I'd like to maintain my ACP status with the idea that I may go back to working as a paralegal in the future, and I worked too darn hard to earn it to give it up!

I believe I have read before that I can't use the designation if I am no longer actively working as a paralegal. What about my CLE requirements? Do I have to earn 50 hours of credit every five years, or can I put my account on hold while I work in the new position?

Thanks for any guidance anyone can provide! smile.gif
