Members of the
NALA Board of Directors Elected |
Ballots
for directors of Regions 2, 3 and 4 were tabulated
and the newly elected directors officially took office
with the rest of the Board of Directors on July 14 at NALA’s 32nd Annual Convention in
New Orleans, Louisiana.
These members of the NALA Board of Directors will serve a
two year term beginning in July 2007 and ending July 2009.

NALA President Elected for
2008-2009 Year

Linda J. Wolf, ACP,
Paralegal with the Dallas law firm of Sidley
Austin LLP, has been elected President of NALA,
The Association of Legal Assistants/Paralegals,
the nation's largest professional association
for paralegals.
The NALA Board of
Directors elected Ms. Wolf at its March meeting
in Tulsa, OK. She will officially assume office
at the annual membership meeting during the
association's 33rd annual convention and
exhibition, July 30-August 1, in Oklahoma City.
She has been a member of NALA since 1983, and
has served in number of leadership positions for
the association. This includes Chair of the NALA
Certifying Board, and NALA First and Second Vice
President. |

She earned her
Certified Legal Assistant certification in 1985,
and in 1995 became a Certified Legal Assistant
Specialist (CLAS) in the field of Intellectual
Property. (The CLAS credential is now the ACP -
Advanced Certified Paralegal). She is a charter
member and former Elections Sub-chair of the
Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas,
and is also a founding member and former
President-elect of the North Texas Paralegal
Association.
She is a continuing legal education lecturer who
has spoken frequently to Dallas area paralegal
students as well as corporate and litigation
paralegals. She is Past President of the Friends
of SMU Libraries, and a former member of the
Library Executive Committee for SMU.
She has served as a Precinct Chair and Election
Judge and is a long-time member of the Junior
League. Her BA degree in Journalism and
Political Science is from Baylor University,
Waco, Texas, and she is a member of the Society
of Professional Journalists. |
