bachelor's degree in any field plus (1) year's experience as a legal

is equivalent to the one year experience requirement.
To file under this category, complete the application form and submit
it with:
- an official school transcript showing receipt of a bachelor's degree and
date of completion;
- those applying under the provision allowing for additional course
work in lieu of the one year's work experience must submit with the
application an official school transcript showing completed legal
assistant course
work.
- those applying under the provision allowing for one year's work
experience in lieu of paralegal course work must submit an original attestation
signed by an attorney/employer and is used to verify a minimum of one
year's experience.
A completed application consists of the following:

- official school transcript showing completion of paralegal course work
(if qualifying under course work in lieu of one year's experience)
- original signed attestation (if qualifying under experience in
lieu of legal assistant course work)
- fees
This must be received by NALA Headquarters by the application
deadline date to avoid late filing charges.

If an applicant has completed the required course work and fees
required by the school, but graduation and transcripts cannot be
received until after the exam date, there is an option. The Certifying
Board has determined that paralegals may take the exam before an
eligibility requirement is met, under certain circumstances.
